It looks like Comcast is starting to make you wait 2 months after your last discount before starting a new one. As I understand it, you can sometimes get a discount on your Comcast bill by threatening to cancel your service. I haven’t tried it, myself. Someone commented that you might have the best luck on the discount if you talk to someone at Comcast at the local branch, rather than over the phone. They say you’ll want to be ready to actually cancel if it doesn’t work out, so have a backup plan. Here’s the story on the new policy. I may give it a try in a few months when I’m actually ready to switch to the cheaper DSL.
