Sure enough, problems came about from the impulsive purchase of a videocard…although
it wasn’t due to the low quality of the card. It actually worked. The problem
is that I had forgotten that my motherboard is 4X AGP while the new cards
are 8X AGP. So, it misses the entire point of getting a new card if my motherboard
can’t use it to the full potential. So, after I tried the game in 1024×768 and saw
how choppy it was, I took the card back to CompUSA. I don’t know if I feel like switching
out the motherboard for a motherboard with PCI-express…it’s the most painful part to switch out,
of course.
