If you’re using Firefox, I suggest you install
Adblock.
Right-click on a banner ad and select Adblock Image. It will allow you
to enter a precise filter for similarly placed pictures like http://www.ripoff.com/ads/*
I think this is how the “Block Images From” right-click should have originally worked
in Firefox rather than just blocking images from an entire site. An adblock link also appears on
all Flash objects so that they can’t escape you either. I think I would recommend this over Flashblock
which has a few issues.
Another miscellaneous tip is that in Firefox, you can press ctrl+K to jump up to the search text field.
