I was trying to install the checkpoint VPN last night so I could connect to
work. When I tried to connect, it caused a blue screen and instant restart
before I could even
read the error on the blue screen. If this ever happens to you,
go to control panel->system properties->startup and recovery->settings.
Uncheck “Automatically restart”. After I did this, I found the error was
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Big help there. It’s probably some ethernet driver or
BIOS issue. Fortunately, I made a restore point before installing any of this.
My uncle donated an old scanner to me. It takes 45 seconds to warm the bulb
but I think it’ll do the job for occasional scanning. Finally I can back
up those old rotting paper photos.
