I sometimes hear about someone boycotting Walmart for their evil
business practices. I figure Walmart would say, “Eh? What? I’m sorry,
I can’t hear you over the roar of my cash registers!” Still, there
is something to be said for trying to avoid them because of their
sweatshops and
the way they run small businesses out of town and lower the wages of
everyone in town through competition. Still, it’s probably not much
better
if you go to Target or some other store. People in general insist on
paying the lowest price because that’s often all they can afford. ‘Tis
a dilemma.
Well, someday if I’m sewing shirts 7 days a week, 14 hours a day, I
guess
I can say I deserved it.

I was watching a bit of a reality show, Pioneer Quest, on PBS where 2
Canadian couples
live as they did in the 1800s. Their main problem was
being consumed by mosquitos, it seemed.

I installed Spambayes
at home because I’m getting flooded with those random word spams.
Alas, Spambayes for Outlook Express is a lousy interface compared to
Spambayes
for Outlook. You have to use a proxy and Outlook Express doesn’t seem
to allow for any nice plug-ins like Outlook does, so you have to use
all these nasty complex workarounds…exactly what a user of Outlook
Express wants to avoid. Perhaps I should switch mail programs.
