I had been putting off and putting off fixing Vanessa’s bike after I had
messed up the brakes. I had put in some plastic strips to stop the goat-heads.
Somehow I made her brakes clamp down too tightly. So last night, I finally
got around to it and pulled out the instructions for brake assembly. I
studied these instructions that were badly translated from Mandarin or
whatever they speak in Taiwan. I still couldn’t figure it out. Vanessa
looked at the brakes for about a minute and pushed on a part that looked
like it was pinching the brake cables and BAM! the brake snapped perfectly
into place.
Vanessa brought home a fig
from someone at work. We
were not impressed. Reminded me of the taste of grass.
