Here’s an interesting page about HDTV measurement. An old 32 inch TV has more square footage than a new 32 inch widescreen HDTV. Square TV will be smaller, but widescreen movies will be bigger. Confusing! Multiply old TV size by 1.06 to get equivalent HDTV size.
