No free wireless for you!

The Albuquerque Journal is reporting that Rio Rancho is giving up on Azulstar for the free wireless that was supposed to happen. Azulstar wasn’t paying their electric bill and was falling through on other commitments. I can’t link to the article because it’s behind a silly paywall. I guess the Albuquerque Journal feels they’re bigger than the New York Times, which just got rid of the paywall on their website. It sounds like city-wide free wireless internet has too many complications to be realistic in general, as it’s failed in some other cities too. I can barely get a good signal from one room to another in my house. I can’t imagine trying to blanket an entire city.
