I’ve had a few days with podcasts on the new Zune software and firmware. I think it actually works well enough for me now. You can subscribe to podcasts in the Zune software and it automatically deletes listened-to podcasts when you sync it. Each podcast mp3 is bookmarked so you can resume it later. After you listen to a podcast mp3, it becomes gray. A slight problem is that it’s only slightly darker than an unlistened podcast. Another little problem is that you can’t just play through all your podcasts, but have to select them one at a time to play. Anyway, the system works well enough that I’m no longer waiting around for Zune Rockbox to come out.
