yay, more Windows networking adventures

I finally got the VPN working so I can remote in to work. Of course, now on our home network, computer A can see computer B, but not C. I will probably never figure out the problem. However, someday, I plan to print out the binary of the windows networking service and then pound the printouts until my fists really really hurt.

UPDATE: called help desk. When you can’t see another computer in your network neighborhood after installing Choice Point VPN, Go to network connection properties and temporarily uncheck the Choice Point SecuRemote protocol when not using the VPN. Personally, I think it’s insane how much VPNs take over control of a PC. I mean, binding with and taking over the network services of the operating system! Programs make secure connections to eachother all the time without going to this extreme. It’s like offering security at a 5-year-old’s birthday party and bringing in the special forces.
