I was listening to a podcast where they were talking about misconceptions or misunderstandings people have had since childhood. Some of these would last into adulthood, when the person would finally realize, duh, they’d never thought it through. One of the best ones was this woman whose family had chicken for dinner every night when she was growing up. She was astounded to reach college, and find that the cafeteria served a variety of other things. (Her mom just shrugged and said she’d liked chicken.) Got any youself?
